Senior schools news…
Keeping up to date with the 11+ scene can feel overwhelming at times. When we hear of something new, we will let you know.
St Paul’s Girls School
For 11+ entry in 2027, St Paul’s Girls School is changing its entrance assessment from the Cambridge Select Insight assessment to the ISEB Common Pre-Test. The ISEB test will be completed on 16 or 17 November. Successful candidates will then be invited to complete written assessments on Saturday 5 December.
Wetherby Prep Marylebone
From September 2027, the school will begin a phased transition to co-education, becoming Wetherby Pembridge Prep. At 11+ or 13+ pupils can move to either Wetherby Senior (boys only) or Wetherby Pembridge (coeducational).

Year 4
English - Pupils analysed a variety of images and used inference skills to answer questions, drawing conclusions from visual evidence. They then completed comprehension questions based on an extract from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, applying their understanding of inference to a written text.
Maths - Revision of the times tables up to 12x12. Finding equivalent fractions, and converting between mixed numbers and improper fractions.
Year 5
English - Past, present and future tenses including simple, continuous, perfect and perfect continuous.
Maths - Continuing the topic of “Time” specifically reading and interpreting timetables to answer word problem questions.
Verbal Reasoning - Time problems: word-based questions that test how well pupils can understand, interpret, and calculate information involving time.
Non-verbal Reasoning This week we are revising “Paper Folding and Cutting”.
Interview Practice - Sometimes pupils might be given a visual stimulus to generate discussion. Watching BBC Newsround or reading The Week Junior is a great way of preparing for school interviews.
